Introduction to Formula 3 and
Motorbikes
Back to Iota and back to the days of Bob McIntyre, the Coopers were out in force
with several other marques remembering the days of 500 c.c. Formula 3 cars and there was
an impressive collection of Manx Nortons and Matchless G50s.Damon Hill was back on a bike riding a Manx Norton and Barry Sheene showed
everyone how to do it in the wet Sunday race power sliding his Manx Norton to victory
against worthy opposition in the form of Tim Jackson who gave him a good run for his money
until the penultimate lap. Sammy Miller came in third ahead of a field of well known and
very competent bike racers on a wet and treacherous track.
