Martin Walford in Dean Butler's magnificent 3,000 c.c. Maserati 8CTF chassis '3030'. The two-stage supercharged straight-eight was Italy's most effective G.P. car of 1938-39. '3030' was placed fifth in the 1938 Italian GP driven by Count Trossi. This car went on to contest five Indianapolis 500's in 1939, 1941, 1946, 1948 and 1951. Its best place was fourth in the 1946 race driven by Emil Andres. To see more photos of this car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year click here. |
