Rodney Smith in about the only E.R.A. to retain a 1,500 c.c. engine the 1924 A Type R2A. This car was originally Humphrey Cook's 1,090 c.c. car, the second E.R.A. to be built and first raced at Brooklands in August 1934 taking 1st place in the 2nd Esher Handicap.
