A slip at Madgwick on a track awash with storm water caught him out momentarily

Whoops, sometimes good things come to an end and after four or five laps it can become hard to keep holding it all together. A slip at Madgwick on a track awash with storm water caught him out momentarily and he slid into the tyres pushing in the grille of the Jag.

Undeterred he took up the chase again, had another slight off, but kept running. Unfortunately one or two of the big names who had possibly been biding their time were then off into the distance. Try as he may he could not make up the time in the second half of the race and finished 15th just under two minutes behind the eventual winner Gerry Marshall - a hard man to beat in any weather.
